Become Ungovernable
Status: Sketch "Become Ungovernable" is a crochet/knit tapestry design based on the Fool tarot card. While the version shown in this speedpaint focuses primarily on the figure of the fool, more recent brainstorming has turned moreso to the pattern and non-human imagery associated with the card (particularly the Rider-Waite-Smith version). This sketch may turn into a drawing (instead of being used as the template for a tapestry), or I may turn it into a corner-to-corner blanket. If I decide on the latter it is going to be a much longer-term project, however, due to the sheer size of it.
Aconitum
Status: Complete "Aconitum" was a Christmas present for a friend who enjoys werewolf imagery. I used a ribcage sketch I'd made for a previous project, "Body As Mycellium" and grabbed silhouettes of aconitum (wolfsbane) flowers as the main imagery. I ended up using two different weights of yarn because I realized I needed different colors than I had accounted for, adding in the white and red much later in the design process. If I did it again I would widen the piece by a few stitches on all four sides to make the process of sewing on the backing easier at the end.
